Beginner's Buy Elsewhere, Experience Folks, This a Best Buy Dec 29, 2008 If you are new to video editing, unless you expect to spend some serious time emersing in the art, Magix product is not for you. New people, or light users are far better off with Pinnacle Systems (AVID) Studio, now Studio 12. I recommend Studio 12 Plus, its few dollars more, but has what everyone but heavy users want. Magix Movie Edit Pro 12 (and now 14) has an awesome array of powerful, advanced editing features, for the lowest price imaginable. Extreme multi-track editing, fade curves, brightning effects, etc. etc. This packages also has the best "camera noise" removal tool availble anywhere (takes a while, but if you have humm you went gone, this is the package). Editing in straight DV is most reliable (I've never had an issue). MPEG2 editing next best. The packages burning options are functional, but sometimes buggy. If you have multiple packages, you might find you want to render to the final product of MPEG2 or DivX and use another package to burn. Truly, this package has very advanced stuff for dirt cheap. If you want to do some advanced multi clip fades with curves for just the right look, this has it. If you are new to editing, I'd suggest Pinnacle Systems Studio 12 Plus, or (Ultimate for a few more $$) or Corel Video Studio X2 (or X2 Pro for a few more $$). Personally, I like the Pinnacle interface best, but tastes vary. The Magix product has it all, and it is not a bad interface, but it is just not as intuitive to new editors as the other interfaces are in the products above. Have fun, go make a movie.

Please don't waste your time or money. Dec 15, 2008 I bought this Magix product to help with a major college project I am doing. BIG mistake. At first I was quite impressed with the product and its many features. However, like others have said, there are many bugs in this software. (ie: German writing on its dialogue boxes, no timing indicator for the DVD burning process, and also choppy video). I had to download several patches from the Magix website to fix these bugs in the product, and the software messed up my registry so much that it also made my Windows Media Player and Windows Movie Maker CD burner not work anymore. Even burning a CD with Windows Explorer no longer works. After uninstalling the product, I still had problems that have taken me weeks to fix (weeks and counting still). This product will mess with your other CD burning software to the point that you will have to uninstall those as well. All in all, this product was the start of a nightmare of messing up my Windows XP registry so much that I can't even fix my computer. It worked fine before that, and now it's so messed up that I am probably going to buy a new computer.
Please, please, do yourself a favor and do NOT buy this product. I will be throwing it out so that no one else suffers from its terrible effects.

Nasty Dec 11, 2008 Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RB4C5YTF8TEEO Hello,This is another buggy app from the Magix people. It won't run on Vista 64bit OS. When I loaded it on a Vista 32 bit system it had all the problems the other reviews noted. Plus When I saved a long session of work "just in case" I figured that the save point would come in handy. As it turns out the app auto deleted the last 1/3rd of the movie. I went back to the "Saved work" only to find that the same exact deletion had took place on the saved work. Really,If you asked I'd say it's,Kinda Nasty

Read the reviews May 14, 2008 I made the mistake of buying blind.... never again! My main problem wasn't really with creating the movie (which is still difficult) but more with the menus. The title pages to select from are terrible. First impression of a movie is from the menu. Not happy at all. Today I'm reading reviews to find another program.

Listen to this feedback before wasting your money. Feb 13, 2008 I have Movie Edit pro 11 and still have yet to receive any return emails or phone calls from customer support. If you listen to any feedback listen to this. Do not buy any product from Majix. Try calling them and find out yourself.Movie Edit Pro 12Magix Entertainment Movie Edit Pro 12
